Halo 3: A look back
April 22, 2008

Since our neighbors (Birdhouse) have been playing Halo 3, I decided to dust it off and fire it up. After all, it has sold over 8.1 million copies. So after six months, how does it stand hold up?
First off, I don’t think I will talk about single player that much, as that is a static experience. I enjoyed the single player quite a bit, but overall, I felt that it was paling in comparison to Halo 1. The Assault on the Control Room is probably the greatest level of any Halo game in my opinion. It was definately better than Halo 2 though.
But enough about single player, how has multiplayer lasted over the course of the year. First off, they released the heroic map pack for free, which I imagine has attracted more players. The new maps are actually pretty decent. I tend to pay attention to the small details. For example, I spent about five minutes just staring at the satelites in Standoff.

Bungie also added more playlists and more game types to their matches. This is great, but it just seems everyone wants to play team slayer. Can I just get 1 Big Team territories on any map besides Valhalla. But this brings me to my next point.
Team Slayer is stupid and just freaking pointless. And on top of that, I would say about 85% of anyone who plays team slayer is a douchebag. So unless you want to sit around forever and hope someone is going to decide to play team skirmish, you are stuck with these assholes.
And one more thing, I wanted to post a picture of Cortana up here, but that was a mistake. Did bungie really think it was a good idea to give the grave mind tentacles? Seriously.
